Georgi Ivanov
Mayor of Haskovo Municipality
Biography:
Georgi Ivanov was born August 3, 1954 in Haskovo. He graduated from the Architecture and Construction Institute - Sofia, with a degree in Industrial and City Construction.
Ivanov’s professional career began with the Industrial Complex in Pernik and he later moved to work with firm Sofstroi in Stambolovo.
In 1989, Ivanov was elected temporary mayor of Stambolovo during the transitional administration and in 1990 he started his own construction firm "Stroitex".
From 1999 to 2007 Mr. Georgi Ivanov is Mayor of Municipality of Haskovo.
He was reelected for a third term at 04.11.2007.
Ivanov is married and has two sons and a daughter.
